Get Involved

We are all busy with jobs, kids, pets etc. but without the help of volunteers the HSTC would not exist.  We desperately need your help.  If you can find even a couple of hours, contact us.  Volunteers are needed for helping at once-a-year events or throughout the year.  Whatever your talents or abilities are, we have ways you can help.  Here’s a list of just some of the ways you can get involved at HSTC…

  • Bake dog biscuits for fundraisersThelma and Louise with a Volunteer

  • Write a newsletter

  • Make phone calls

  • Pick up/delivering pet food for our food pantry

  • Provide a Foster home for just one homeless pet, for more info. Click Here

  • Become a Board Member

  • Volunteer for "Animals in Disasters."  For more info. Click Here

  • Help for a few hours at our various events ( Pumpkin Festival events, Tuscola County Fair booth, etc)

  • Transport unwanted pets to a safe shelter/foster home

All donations are appreciated.
The following items are always useful to our foster care homes: 

  • Blankets

  • Puppy Exercise pens

  • Towels

  • Stainless Steel Pet Dishes-small for cats, large for Dogs

  • Pet Food

  • Pet Beds

  • Dog and Cat toys

  • Newspapers

  • Cat Litter

  • Collars

  • Leashes

  • Money for medical supplies/vaccines

We also welcome items/services appropriate to give away for prizes at our various fundraising events conducted throughout the year.
